Tax information, not tax advice

MiTax gives you software and clear, general information about Nigerian tax. That is not the same as personalised advice from a licensed professional. Here is exactly where the line sits.

Information, not advice#

Plain English: everything MiTax shows you is general information to help you understand and meet your obligations. It is not personalised tax, legal, accounting, or investment advice.

MiTax is a software platform that helps individuals and businesses in Nigeria calculate, file, pay, and record their taxes under the Nigeria Tax Act 2025. The calculations, explanations, guides, tools, and prompts we provide are general in nature. They do not take account of your full personal circumstances, and they are not a substitute for advice from a licensed tax practitioner, chartered accountant, or lawyer engaged to advise you specifically.

Nothing on this website, in the free tools, in the guides, or inside the MiTax apps creates a professional-client or advisory relationship between you and MiTax.

02

Figures are estimates#

Plain English: numbers we show are good-faith estimates based on the details entered and our reading of the law. Your real position can differ.

Any tax figure MiTax produces (a calculator result, a projected liability, a potential saving, a penalty estimate, or a compliance score) is an estimate. It depends on the information you enter, the assumptions built into the calculation, and our interpretation of current law. Real outcomes depend on your complete income and deduction profile, on records you may not have entered, and on how the tax authority applies the law to your case.

Comparisons to prior tax regimes, savings figures, and worked examples in our guides are illustrative. Do not treat any estimate as the exact amount you owe or will save.

03

The tax authority is the final word#

Plain English: the NRS and your State IRS decide your tax. If their assessment differs from ours, theirs controls.

The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) and the relevant State Internal Revenue Service are the authorities that assess and determine your tax. MiTax prepares filings that reflect our reasonable interpretation of the Nigeria Tax Act 2025 and related law, but where an authority issues a contrary assessment, that assessment controls. MiTax does not guarantee that any filing will be accepted on first submission, or that a refund, clearance, or certificate will be issued within any particular timeframe.

04

We are not your adviser#

Plain English: MiTax the company is not a law firm, an audit firm, or a registered tax consultancy, and it is not a licensed financial adviser.

MiTax Limited (Worllet Ltd) is a technology company. It is not a law firm, a firm of chartered accountants, a registered tax consultancy, or a regulated investment or financial adviser. We do not provide personalised investment or financial advice, and nothing we publish should be read as a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any asset, including cryptocurrency.

MiTax operates an advisor marketplace that can connect you with independent, accredited professionals. Any advice you receive through such a professional is their advice, given under their own terms and professional responsibility, not MiTax’s.

05

Free tools & guides#

Plain English: the calculators and guides are educational. Great for a ballpark; not a filing.

The free tools (the PIT calculator, TIN lookup, penalty calculator, Tax ID health check, and e-invoicing readiness check) run in your browser to give you a quick, educational estimate. They do not file anything, do not connect to your tax record, and do not constitute advice. Our guides explain the law in plain English and were current when last reviewed; tax law changes, and a guide may lag a change. Always confirm against the current law or a professional before you act on a significant decision.

06

AI assistant#

Plain English: the in-app AI helps you understand things, but it can be wrong. Verify anything important.

Where MiTax offers an AI assistant, it is a tool to help you understand tax concepts and the app. AI responses can be incomplete or incorrect, and they are general information, not advice specific to your situation. Do not rely on an AI response alone for a filing, a payment, or any decision with financial consequences. Verify important points against the current law, the tax authority, or a licensed professional.

07

Your responsibility#

Plain English: the return is yours. Review it before you authorise submission.

You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information you enter and for the returns you authorise MiTax to submit. Review every filing before you approve it. You are responsible for meeting filing and payment deadlines; MiTax provides reminders as a convenience, not a guarantee. To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, MiTax is not liable for interest, penalties, or losses arising from inaccurate information you supplied, decisions you made on the basis of an estimate, or your failure to meet a deadline. This disclaimer is subject to the limits in our Terms of Service and does not exclude any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

08

When to get professional advice#

Plain English: for anything big or unusual, talk to a licensed professional.

Consider engaging a licensed tax practitioner, accountant, or lawyer where your situation is complex or high-stakes: for example large or cross-border income, a business restructuring, an audit or dispute with the authority, significant capital gains, estate or succession planning, or anything where the tax outcome is material and uncertain. MiTax can complement that advice, but it does not replace it.

09

Contact#
